Forever_lost Georgia chick....

Hi! I'm Kelly.. from Georgia.

I just joined this site today, because I am forever having trouble with my Nissan Altima, and I figured this would be a great place to find out tips and information instead of me constantly bugging my ex-the-mechanic

I have a 95 Nissan Altima. It is a POS, I just got it in May, and it's fallen apart piece by piece and I can't take it back to the lot, because they won't take it as a trade in because it's in such bad condition

Bye

Check the Altima sections if the car starts to give you problems.

Angry

Okay, what's wrong with it?

Three days after I got the damn thing, the brakes started scrubbing, I called the dealership and they said it wasn't their problem. My ex is a policeman, so I called him and he called them and well, after he was done talking to them they were falling all over themselves to fix them. Well after the runaround for a week and them keeping my car for three days to do this, I got my car back and when I stopped there was a loud clicking coming from the rear brakes. Also, my cv joint(s) were broken, mysteriously. Also, the dumbass that was inside my car ground black grease all into my light gray carpet, as they were too cheap to put one of those disposable floormats down.

Now, the front brakes are squealing, my rearview mirror fell off, the visors broke off from one side, (screws came out of the ceiling), my airconditioner is leaking ice cold water from up under the dash, my battery blew up two days ago, the clear coat is off the hood (which it WASNT like that until I washed my car for the first time, so I'm assuming they put something on it to temporarily fix it), my lil side light up front (outside the car) just FELL out the other day. My antanae is motorized and it won't retract, instead just makes a really loud grinding noise. My radio shorted out, wouldnt turn off at all, had to take the fuses out (because it was giving me LOUD staticky feedback) and even then, it was shorted out and hissed and popped for a long time.

My muffler is loose or SOMETHING. I crank it up and you can hear it clanging up against something metallic. Plus it sounds like it's got a flowmaster on it. IT DOESN'T.

I'm sure theres more, I just can't think of them right now.

Lemon laws? Its a used car. I have no rights. As is. I just got snowed, that's all, and there isn't a damn thing I can do about it. However, everytime I make a payment at the dealership every week, I go into the lot and let everyone hear the damn car, I left the dealer tag on the front so when people see (hear) my car coming they will KNOW where it came from, and I talk people in the lot out of getting cars from there. They hate me at the dealership. Shit, I don't want them to get a chance to rip anyone else off. I left a comment in their guestbook on their website and they removed it and sent me an email and told me I couldn't leave comments like that (all I did was list everything that was wrong with my car and how I felt about their service...like they said) so I have to put it back on there every day.

Contact your local Better Business Bureau and fine a complaint. You can also check about their reputation there.

Sounds like you have a handful on your hands. Better off not worrying about the cosmetic stuff and make sure that thing keeps running.

I would also contact the BBB, like Ishadoff suggested. Your complaints along with others could keep other people from getting shafted.

I wish you luck with it however

If where you went was a chain and not a single company, I would go talk to corporate...I can almost guarentee they will do everything they can to make your car run well (probably free of charge to you). If you were at a Nissan dealer, Nissan seems to be very strict about the standards of their dealers, talking to them may be an option too. When heads of customer relations and the corporate heads realize that their company screwed up badley, they do all that they can to help you because it is a given they will lose business and earn a bad reputation if they dont. If none of that works, the BBB Ishadoff suggested is a good idea too. If that doesnt work and since they screwed up your car, talking to an attorney may not be a bad idea either to see what you can do in terms of getting your money back or getting your car fixed.

No, unfortunately I didn't have the insight to go to a dealer. I went to a chain, and they have stores all over North Georgia, and I didn't find out their reputation until TOO LATE.

I'm calling the BBB tommorow, I spoke with someone today and they said I may have a case

Never knew there was a "chain" of used car dealerships here in Ga. Any of these places in the Metro area?
