Tire pressure monitor

2004 Pathfinder with VDC includes tire pressure monitor. Car came with a full sized spare tire mounted on an alloy wheel. Want to be able to inlcude this tire and wheel when rotating tires. How does one get the tire pressure monitor to recognize the spare when it is placed in service. The manual says it must be activated and of course see the dealer.

i believe the tire pressure moniter is based on yuor ABS system... it reads the dynamics of how the wheel and tire are rotating, could be wrong though, call your dealers service departmnt and just ask first...
