Question ECU Stuck in Diag Mode

New to this forum and have read numerous posts on ECU and the modes of it. Tried getting to mine and having a real hard time doing it. I have a 99 Pathy XE that was manufactured 6/98. Got up under the dash and tried to get a screw driver in to move diag screw and just cant't seem to reach properly. Is there a special tool that nissan or anyone else has to reach this. It wouldn't be real hard but there is a mounting bracket for the ECU in the way of the screw hole. It looks like it may be easier to remove the ecu. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In many Nissans it is easier to pull the ECU from it's mounting bracket to turn the mode screw.
Also Nissan does have a special tool available.

Thanks, Troy! Do you know if the tool can be purchased? If not any instructions on pulling the ECU?

I'm sure that the tool can be purchased from Nissan or even Mac and Snap-On Tools. Check with the dealer closest to you to get more info or for even more assistance.
