Mi Rolos... I'm repeating what I already wrote at Nissan+Goshn thread.....
Some previous story...
I don't know why but in Brazil is common to put trunk in some cars (any of them could be seen at USA, just at Mex border): Renault's Clio Saloon= Nissan Platina, Chevrolet with our oh so popular Monza (weird name for a not so terrible car) and the Corsa Sedan, Ford's Fiesta Ikon,
Other changes includes the pick up (ization) of sedans: Ford Courier, Pointer PickUp & the Chevy's Pickup.
In my opinion, Platina wasn't the best trunk-ization (new word hehe) of all, it's a great car, well equiped, nice ride, higher floor to fight against our terrible stop bumps (like walls), great quality, but I think a Tsuru (Sentra B13) or an Almera are much better cars
American Guys, don't turn nuts Mexican Chevy is not a Chevrolet nick, it's Opel's Corsa past generation, here there's a big Opel offer sold like Chevrolets 2 gen of Corsas, Astra, Vectra (great car), Zafira & Meriva
Rolos.... why don't you put some more info in your ID?, guys here are friendly with foreigns, Ask if you need something, tell us more about your Nissan's experience
Thank you everyone for take time to answer me.....
I would like to know who can tell me which engine mods can I do to my Platina in order to change the speed of the car. I would like to have more HP into my little car.
Thank you
Manuelga, I put more info in my profile, thank you for your answer, and If you want you can write my roloss_valdes@hotmail.com ( in spanish of course jajaja ).
Ok perfecto... I'm going to write in Spanglish jejeje hehe
I don't know exactly how is the intake of platina's.... but I guess first option to do is enhace engine's breathing so... K&N air intake can be my first choice... if you don't want to change the hole air-filter-box, a drop in filter could be a nice choice (In my opinion, due to infernal summer there this could be better 'cause exposed filters breath hot air and can overheat your car)
Drop-in filters are the same size, form, etc. than OEM filters but much better material, if K&N don't do filters for these cars, look for "Green Filter" brand (of course that Clio 1.6lt engine application), if you can't find any, PM me, I know where to get both here at Mex City and maybe contact you
Next thing to do... is enhace the spark so.... better spark plugs (bujias) works fine, but these can be more difficult, look for Denso Iridium (expensive, too expensive), take out one of the bujias and write the part n° to look for cross reference at NSK, Splitfires or any other (But never Bosch Platinum, cause it doesn't work well in these cars, very small tip)
Next... Better Wires.... and beyond....
To do a muuuch easier search look for Clio 1.6engine parts
Just one thing.... I guess your car is already in the waranty period and we know our dealerships, so whatever you do.... be able to take out of your car when you send to service.
Ask, Ask, Ask.
Another little thing.... if you like Clio's headlights, I've heard that it fits without any tin mod, maybe just wiring, if you want... maybe it could be the beggining of an endless mod way hehehehehehehe
