Well, what can I say, I just purchased a 1990 Nissan 300 ZX, Pearl white, tan leather interior. I'm so stoked, but...I have had an older Z car (1987) but not the new(er) bodystyle. IT has 123,000 miles on it, timing belt was changed at 121k so I know that was a cheap getaway. The body is immaculate, and the weather stripping, and seals are all like-new condition. Is there anything I should look out for with this car? Your input is greatly appreciated.
First, and most important thing to check for is to make sure it has a engine. After that, move on to things like rust around the bottom of the doors, the wheel wells, alot of rust and crap under the hook, check the cv boots for tears, park it somewhere overnight and see if any mysterious puddles turn up the next morning, hmm that's some of the things I'd check and I'm sure there are plenty more things

I alway's change and flush all fluids, this way your starting fresh and don't have to worry about when they were changed last. Especially performance cars that you know have been driven hard a few times at least! It doesn't hurt to have new brake, pwr steering, tranny fluid etc anyway's. Have fun and good luck with your new ride!
Last yr I purchased a '98 MB CLK320 from a used car lot. The first thing I did was to locate the service records and luckily I found the local MB dealer that had sold and serviced this car and they were nice enough to fax me most of the service history for this car, just invaluable information. If there is any way you can find this for your Z it would save you a lot of time and money. BTW I just sold my 1990 300ZX last year, pearl yellow, 35K miles, stainless exhaust, a truly beautiful car, non turbo. The first car I've ever sold on Ebay.
Enjoy your Z!
