200sx runs 5 secs

I have obtained (for free) a 1984 200sx with the 2.0. It has not been run for 3 yrs. I put some fresh gas & injector cleaner/gas dry in it and replaced the air filter, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor. It starts up and runs for up to 5-10 secs and then shuts off like it is starved for fuel. If I spray ether in the intake it runs fine and even can rev. I am familiar with the principles of fuel injection but have not worked with extensively. I own old carbuerated Jeeps. Couple questions:

1: (obviously) What could be causing this?
2: Is the fuel pump to run continously even before the car is started. I had my wife turn the car on and not start it for about 30 secs -1min and the fuel pump never shut off.
3. There is a green relay & a blue relay next to each other on the driver's side fender about halfway between the grille and firewall. The green one has 1 wire broken that I have not fixed yet.

A few more notes- There do not appear to be any leaks from fuel lines being rotted-I assume that at the pressure required for the MPI any leaks would be obvious very quickly.
Also, this is the first import I've owned so as far as Nissans go I'm starting from scratch, but I do know a fair amount about engines and engine theory.
Third, the car is not at my house so I cannot readily check on any little things you may ask.

Thanks for any help you can give.

fix the wire, then... could be your pump is choked? 3 years is a loooong time to be sitting down with gas in the tank... but it is also just as likely and electrical/electronic problem.
