It's totally pointless, but...

I am going to ATTEMPT to fit a turbo to my 1.4 Sunny Pulsar. You can stop laughing now.
What can you guys offer in advice (except buy a GTiR)? What's the minimum I need to do and were it to actually work what do you suggest on uprating the ECU, as I would imagine a 'performance' one for the 1.4 poverty model Pulsar is unavailable.
The car is a '94 16 valve MPI thing with a cat and all the other usual emissions things.
I work in a large factory and can get an unusual amount of home orders done for nowt so the only proviso for the project is that I'm definitely going to do it and I'm not going to spend a lot doing it!
So whadda ya think! Nuts?

I would suggest getting some type of blower...(shop vac motor maybe) if your not wanting to spend alot of cash. Or, maybe you could find a supercharger for a car with similiar specs...

Er, what I meant when I said I didn't want to spend a lot of money was that I wanted to prove you could get more performance without spending shed loads of money. After all, what fool would throw money at a 1.4 Nissan Pulsar.

I'll put your idea on the list of "things to consider".
Ta muchly.

a lot of fools would.

swap the block, keep the head! ...you can probably get a 1.6 for a little money... swap it and keep most everything else... your 1.4 head might give you higher compression, too... don't know if your ECU would like it, though.

most anything you could do to a 1.6 would work on a 1.4... just remember to estimate for the smaller size with your exhaust pipe...

turbo IS possible... but not very much of it... not much is known about the limits of the 1.4 block (it is smaller inside and outside than the 1.6, but the head is the same, so should take whatever a 1.6 can)... good luck.
