Unhappy sr20 problems

i have a 95 200sx se-r with 109k and have been having problems with the common sputtering problems. i am real good with cars but i wanted to take it to my shop to plug the computer up and it came up the MAF was bad. They said it might be other problems and i might as well buy tune up parts for 100 bucks to see if its the problem rather than 500 on a new MAF, so i went to the local car parts store to buy some parts(wires, plugs, rotor, cap). The cap and rotor that were on the car were less than 6 months old and had deposites already. Nothing happened when i replaced these parts so i took it to nissan. They said they've never seen this before which i find hard to believe but also they said the parts that i just replaced were garbage and that the cap and rotor were bad again. They put on new wires, plugs, cap, and rotor and now it runs decent from 1k to like 4.5k but than it cops out and backfires and sputters. PLEASE HELP. I'm going insane not being able to rev my car out EVER.

Yeah, that quote on that MAF sounds kinda high. Where you from? B4 you go get the MAF have you check the timing?? Or even the air filter and fuel filter? Backfire is usually from a lean condition as you should know maybe the MAF or could be somethin' as simple as a filter.

would the nissan dealer tell me if the timing is off? shouldn't they know? anyway i had the pop charger on there and they made me give them the stock airbox so they could troubleshoot. That is the current setup. the dealer's quote on the MAF was 522 or 422......i forget. what about a used one from foreigncarparts.com???
