idle problem

Hello everyone-

I am a newby so I hope i dont offend anyone. I have a NX 1600 with an idle problem. In park the idle jumps between 400 and 1200 then comes back to 400 surges upto 1200 and then back again. The computer does not produce any error codes which makes it extremely difficult to diagnose. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me a starting point.

I have a 94 Sentra (GA16DE) and my idle moves around pretty reguarly.

The car runs at 1200 for me when I frist start it (to warm up faster I presume) and usualy when I'm running the A/C it will idle a little higher.

Check any hose that deals with air. Could be one of them is not connected properly or maybe leaking.

I've had a TPS replaced in my truck that seemed to have corrected the major idle problem, but there is a slight fluctuation that I hear can be caused by the air temp sensor located in the filter housing. I'll get it changed out soon and let you know if that cleared up the problem. BTW, a bad TPS replacement cost me 350 bones to repair, not something I want to do again soon! Good luck with your repairs though...
