This is my newest most cool looking car i have drove and owned. I was in the honda things but now I am loving this 200SX even though its a 1.6 It has more pep then the honda i drove. I have found although the tack does not work and i did a diagnosis and code P0180 came up and won't erase.... SOmething about a fuel temp. sensor. Never even knew they had anything like that. but tack is pissing me off I believe its the distributor, but dont know.. tell me if I am wrong of suggest me what to do...
I used to drive a 87 CRX DX. Also I drove my friends 93 Civic hatckback with all the mods, cold air, exhaust no cat, short shifter, and more.... it too is slower then my 200sx se and now i found a turbo kit for the 1.6 and well it will make it much fast then all the imports i have diven, but the the domestics.. I still have mad respect for the chevys.
well of course they are slow, they probably didn't have a swap in it, can you honestly tell me your 200 will beat a integra type r or even a integra gsr

whos talking acuras?? off topic, this dude needs help with his tach problem. lets get this taken care of guys.
xt_out , the guy obviously likes to talk about cars or he wouldn't have posted a reply about his old crx and all that, but not to start a fight or anything you really didn't help by answering his question. but i just wanted to say that the DX crx is pushing about 70-80hp but if you put a jdm b16 and the v-tec head with new cams and gears it would be quite fast. plus the crx's weigh very little so it would be alot faster with a swap.
thank you, all im trying to say is you cant judge a car if you dont know nothing about it and its potential, i hate it when people talk a lot a s#*! when they know difference between a wrech and a hammer lol
not trying to flame on you but you need to keep an open mind
I now have a major problem with my 200sx. I only had it 8 days now, and already it no longer run right at all. It is running really retarted so bad that the exhaust pip after the cat was glowing red. I think it may be the control mod for ignition or crank angle pos sensor or something, it did not set of any ecu code to read from obd 2. Any body have any simular situation? The car only has 68,000 miles on it and its all original. I am pissed off about this nissan right now.
Hi
Sorry to read of your problem, but Im not surprised, I owned a brand new in 1995, a Hardbody Nissan truck that had the following problems right off the bat, and Im talking about a brand new truck here at the time, The reverse gear cracked while backing out of a parking space leaving work, then the fuel pump went out, and the front end alignment would never stay in spec and was so bad I had to replace two tires every 5,000 miles, all this took place during the first 20,000 miles. The truck was in the shop on a monthly basis, often for a week at a time, sadly by the time I went to turn it in under the lemon law I already had over 15.000 miles on the truck, I averaged 120 miles a day to and from work, so I had to end up filing bankruptcy as the only means of getting out from under the car. I swore I would never buy another Nissan however while going thru my midlife crisis this year and looking for a fast sporty yet practical car, I ended up (along with taking advice fromn my oldest son who said Nissan had changed it's act with Renault's injection of leadership.) choosing the Sentra SE-R Spec-V over such cars as the Honda civic SI, Acura RSX-S, Mazda Protoge5 and mazdaspeed protege.
I love my car, but after suffering an accident on the freeway hitting a metal wheel off of a large trash dumpster that rolled across my path and lodged under my oil pan destroying it and causing damage to the air conditioning system as well, I wish I had never gone back to Nissan for a car. I went thru 7 weeks of hell ,while Corona Nissan first failed to try and expidite delivery of a new oil pan. They had gotten all the parts ( Except the oil pan) but wanted me to wait until a parts shipment from Japan arrived with new oil pans, but they had no idea when the shipment would come in. After being patient for 3 weeks I started asking them if they couldnt get the part delivered air-mail from Japan, or if another dealer might have the part, but they wouldnt budge from waiting for the big shipment that was being sent to Nissan's main distribution point. I ended up calling Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they could assist but they were of no help. Going into the 5th week I came home to find my son had spent his day off calling Nissan Dealers across the country to try to locate a new oil pan. He got ahold of Scottsdale Arizona Infinity/Nissan (We live in California), the parts person told him that they did not have the oil pan, but he was more then happy to get on his computer to try to locate the part at another dealership. He ended up locating the part at 3 places, a dealer in New York, a dealer in Florida and a dealer in Texas.
I then called Nissan Consumer Affairs to try to get them to twist Corona Nissan's arm to purchase the part and then expidite repairs. This they did but my nightmare was far from over. When I was told the car was ready I went to inspect it. I had had the front bumper replaced due to the metal wheel putting a small gouge in the bottom of the bumper before it lodged under the oil pan. The body shop Corona Nissan sent the car to, "Fix auto" failed to put the bumper on correctly, it was crooked and the Grill was not secured properly, missing the passenger side clip and when slight hand pressure was added to the drivers side of the grill by my son the other Clip popped right off.
I demanded that the car be sent back and the work be done correctly, I then called Nissan Consumer affairs to state my displeasure at the half assed job that was done. The next day Nissan consumer affairs followed up but then told me taht the grill was fixed but the crooked bumper was said to be "in spec". I went to the dealer after work with a picture of my car from before the accident and was forced to have to get very verbal and upset with the people there in order to get the vehicle fixed properly. They sent the car back again and finally the bumper was hung properly. My tale isnt done yet, behind the bumper is a steel cross peice and this too had been damaged and needed to be replaced, the Corona Nissan had to fix my engine before the car was sent to fix auto for the bumper repair. When the cross peice was found to be damaged, Fix Auto replaced it but in order to replace it requires some welding so the air conditioning had to be removed and de-charged before the welding. After the work was done Fix Auto re-charged the system. When I recieved the car just this Tuesday, I drove it home only to have the air conditioning fail. the car had to go back in but Corona Nissan did take care of the problem quickly, the air conditioning had been over-charged, so now I have my car back finally, but while I feel Nissan builds a very nice car now vs 1995, I only have 8000 miles on my spec-v so I cant really say if it is truely reliable, However I must state that Nissan's and the Nissan dealership's service in Customer support is poor and so I would recomend a new vehicle buyer should really look elsewhere, like Honda, Toyota, or Mazda, or Mitsubishi, Nissan did give me a a credit of 300 dollars to buy parts or service for my car from my own dealer, Rancho Motors, but there arent too many things you can purchase for a spec-v yet, and lets be real here, anything that a dealer charges 300 bucks for more then likely only cost them 50 bucks.
Sorry to here about that man. See the thing is if it was their car that was messed up i assure you they probably would have had it done so much faster. But when it is a costomer they don't care cause they don't know you and they don't care about what is going on in their lives. They have no consiteration.

I've had a bunch of people call my Sentra a "sleeper"... mostly guys with Integras that I've raced and stayed even with or a few Del Sols I've beated. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a sleeper, but it's moderatly quick and I'm quite glad to drive it. Although it' could use more power and a major cosmetic make over I don't really give a shit about the apperance. The stuff that really brings a smile to my face is pulling on a civic that looks 100x better than my car, just after the driver got done laughing at my car. I like my little Sentra and my moms Maxima even more, I've been glad to have a Nissan.

OK, beating a Honda del Sol with your spec-V isnt something to brag about!!! You are talking about a car with less then 100 horsepower at the wheels stock. I do know a guy with one pushing 200 Horse but it is not street legal and only raced at tracks. Even if the del sols you are racing have been tuned with aftermarket parts I doubt they are pumping out more then 150 horse at best. The Spec-V as "Stock" is actually a well "Modified" engine since it already comes standard with, a tuned les restricted exhaust (This alone accounts for the extra 10 horse and 5 ft.lbs. of Torque over the standard 2.5 engine used in the basic SE-R and the Altima), hollowed out cams, a Six Speed tranny, and a sport tuned suspension. At the fly wheel you are pumping out 175 HP and even nicer a healthy 180 Ft. Lb. of Torque.
Now for myself I can say I have wasted two Acura Integras, both sporting custom Cat-Back exhausts, headers, and intakes, and this with my stock Spec-V. With my car back I am finally starting to Mod it, I get an AEM cold air on tomorrow and a Thermal Cat back exhaust next month. Then I work on the Audio with two extra Rockford Fosgate 10" Subs and a Rockford Fosgate 1000 watt Amp for the trunk. Also, Get the H.I.D lights for your ride, I cant say how much safer they make long Night Drives on the California freeways what with all the damn Truck retread blowout pieces and other major debris you see all over them these days.
I still wont buy another Nissan after this one, But I am trying to get back into enjoying the car again---- Latest news, I found that the replaced Bumper paint was a shade darker then Aztec Red it was originally painted with, the body shop tried buffing the cra up but it still doesnt quite match, Ive been left to live with it, MY gas milage went way down since I got it back but this may be simply due to the battery being disconnected during the repairs which always will cause your ECU to reset which means it must relearn the engine all over again, so I think---make that pray--that it will kick in and the gas milage will return to normal, guess tomorrow is as good a time as any for that Cold air intake install before the ECU gets used to the regular intake system.

OOPs sorry just read you are driving a 1994/5 Sentra, not a Spec-V, sorry!!!! But even your car is pumping out 120 to 130 horsepower so that still places you ahead of the Del Sol big time. Now staying with integras in your car, that is something to boast!! Kudos there
It sounds like the problem is with Corona not getting the job done right. I've had a few problems with my '95 Hardbody, but I swear by Nissan's quality. They are just machines, with imperfections just like us, time- and age, has taught me to roll with the punches. But I gotta say that Nissan's still rule...
