No Dash lights, Fuses OK

Hi
I'm new to the Nissan Forums. I've searched around the different sections for an answer to my problem, but I haven't been able to find any leads. I hope someone can help me out.

I have an 84 Nissan/Datsun Sentra FWD. B11 chassis.
I recently took out the factory radio and installed an aftermarket radio using a wire harness ( I didn't want to cut any factory wires). Now the dash board lights will not turn on. I pulled out the clock and checked the light wires with a voltmeter. I got +12 on each wire. I checked the dimmer knob which seems to be working OK. All fuses are intact. I pulled the instrument cluster and checked the lights. All are OK. The only light that turns on is the cigarette-lighter back light.
Are the illumination lights connected in series? I have two unused wires from the radio harness that are labeled Illumination and dimmer.
Any advise will be appreciated..

well if you already checked the fuses inside the car, I'm not sure if yours will be the same as the B14 200sx, but there is fuses in the engine bay that are also tied to the brake lights, check your rear lights, if they are not working, its possible that thats the problem fuse
