i was thinking more toward a v-tech.
Dear God, I'll keep my comments to myself.

The Honda engines are not compatible w/ Nissan trannies because of the rotation of the flywheel. If you want a variable valve timing engine (please don't call it VTEC), you can buy a sr20ve which has the same technology. You bought a Nissan, keep it that way.

By the way, 'VTECH" makes phones, 'VTEC' is the Honda engine.

sacrilege makes baby jesus cry...

keep it in the nissan family dude, and all will be peaceful in the galaxy. consider:

CA18DET
SR20DET
RB20DET
RB25DET

I've seen them all in s13 chassis, there very doable, and most of all easy and cheap-ish.

most affordable VTEC engine are FWD anyway, so you will have to have custom engine mounts, sumps, and driveline etc, etc.

Yeah, painful to read.
VTEC is a honda variable valve system.
Along with intrepid, here are your choices.
KA24DE
SR20DET
CA18DET
RB20DET
RB25DET
and if your real daring and rich.
RB26DETT w RB25 tranny + crossmember for engine mounting.
it can be done, but usually not enough room (custom exhaust manifold + single turbo.)

VTEC is crap compared to the potential of an SR20DET.

Go with a DET. It will put out much more power that a Vtec too...My suggestion would be sticking with the SR20DET...

Unless you want to spend bajillions of dollars and months of time in custom fabbing to try to put in a S2k engine, you might as well go with the DET. Great power capability, bulletproof, can handle 4-500 hp on a stock bottom end, massive aftermarket and right about anything. And if you're big on variable valve timing/cam lift and must have it in your car, the S14 and S15 DEt's have Nissan's VVL. Just don't tell anyone that your 240 has v-tec. To be honest, I'm surprised you weren't flamed

s15=overpriced

Go for the s13, since they come out of cars with about equivalent mileage (no hi-mileage cars in Japan.) With the money you save (about 3k,) you'll be able to make the car far faster with the S13. The bigger turbo on the S15 can be countered and once you start tuning with standalones (for big power,) you stop using the VVL, so in the long run, as well as the short, you get a lot more for your money with the s13. Plus, you have a DE S13, so the swap would probably be a little easier as the engine is meant for the car
