HELP Broken power window 94 Sentra Limited Edition

Hi, I'm new to the boards.

My 94 Sentra 4 door has had problems with power windows in the past.

this time I decided to do the repairs myself.

I got a new regulator from Nissan (paid $70)

that didn't fix it. It sounds like a gear in the window motor is stripped.

I went to a junkyard to get a new motor. the owner of the junkyard told me I need a motor and regulator becuase otherwise the job is a bitch to get things lined up.

Is this guy pulling my leg?

Why can't I just take the motor attach it to my new regualtor and be done with it ?

PLEASE HELP !?!?!?!?
