Sounds like you need a new throw-out bearing to me...

It would probably be a couple of hundred dollars for the repair, but the bearing can be had for forty dollars and it's not that difficult to replace it. You will have to pull out the driver's side axle, and remove the bell housing from the transmission... but I've done it on jackstands in the back yard. lol It's like this:

Jack up the car and put it on jackstands in the front (at least). Be sure to block the rear tires.
Remove the driver's side front wheel. Then, remove the brake calipar and the brake rotor. You should then be able to see everything required to remove the hub and axle. Remember where all the bolts go. Pull the axle from the transmission. Expect gear oil to leak out so keep that in mind. You will want to have drained all of the fluid out of the transmission before you take out the axle.
Once the axle is removed, you should be able to see the bell housing and all of the bolts that hold it on. I think there are eight or nine of them, all around the circular casing. Remove the shift linkage from the shift fork (at the bottom of the tranny), and remove the bolts that hold the bell housing on. Pull the bell housing from the clutch assembly, and inspect it for any metal shavings or shicken scratches. If all looks well, proceed.
The bearing sits on the inside of the shift fork. It has a shaft attached to the shift fork that runs through it. Be sure to grease the shaft and the new bearing well when you replace it.
Put it all back together in the opposite order and you're all set! It's not as complicated as it sounds, trust me. Get a Chilton's book off of eBay or at your local used book store. They can be had for ten bucks or less if you look around and are very usefull tools that pay for themselves upon thier first use... even at retail price. Good luck!!

wow fast reponse, thanks, that look to hard for me. just need to know before i take to a mechanic i do not want them to charge me an arm and a leg for something simple.

oh yeah, my truck only have about 55k on it, does this sound right for the throw-out bearing to go bad? bought it brand new in 94 with 2 miles on it.

Not really, unless it's been abused. 55K is not a lot of miles.

GET A NEW TRUCK. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH A TRUCK ANYWAY. Get a 350Z if you want a good V6. Or go get an NX 2000.
Actually, I think the bearing or bad or you might just wanna get a new clutch.
