What's up. My mom just gave me her '96 Infiniti I30 for my daily driver. My other car is a '98 Z28 with full bolt ons. I know nothing about this car besides what I saw under the hood. I don't want to mod this car because it's my daily but I don't think I'll ever be able to drive a stock car. Can anyone tell me anything about the 24v 3.0 that's under the hood?

i have a book on the japan spec version of this car, called the cefiro. basically a maxima clone with more conservative lines. should have a vq30de engine, about 210hp/6400rpm, 205#ft/4400rpm (extrapolated, not sure actual or whp). i believe anything that fits a '96 maxima should fit unaltered on the i30, but check with the vendor to make sure. stillen is one vendor who has go-fast parts for maximas. i think there's a maxima forum here too, might be a good browse. seeing as you're coming from a z28, remember the i30 is fwd and a lot cushier than a camaro. good luck, nissan driver!
