Basically speaking, the s13 is probably the easiest to put in because your car has an ps13 chassis (pretty much same as s13.) S14 and 15 will be a little more difficult to put in, but it can be done. RB25 will be the most difficult, since it is not even originally meant for a silvia, but I've seen it done. If money isn't an issue and all you want to do is go in a straight line, go for the rb25det, but for the best value and weight balance, as well as ease, the s13 is the best choice.

BTW, Be sure to get a front clip, not just an engine, and from a reputable provider. You will need the tranny, ecu, electrical harness, mounts and miscellany other parts to make the swap work.

Boris hit the nail on the head there. I can't think of adding anything else.

I have something to add as well though. Your comment on the RB motor is somewhat false. The RB motor with no A/C pump has the same weight as the KA24DE motor. The weight balancing actually improves when the RB motor is dropped in. The SR motor weighs less than the KA and RB motors (about 22 lbs. lighter than the KA).
If you decide to go with the SR motor, try getting some suspension work done in the front. The front end looks pretty goofy since it raises up just a hair and a half.

Actually, I was comparing the SR and RB in my comparisons. I consider the SR to be the Silvia's natural engine, with the KA basically being shoved into it to make the car moreso affordable.

Newbie question I have a S14 front clip I have a 91 240 (s13) I understand the motor fits but in comparing the 2 harnesses nothing matches ie. color of wires isn't even the same If I pull the 240 fuse box and complete harness inc. gauge cluster I could get the engine to run but none of the lights would work or so it seems seat belt no go pop up motors. is there a conversion harness available? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
D.J.

that shoved in engine has lots of potential as well. people are so quick to swap engines and spend that money. anyone that knows nissans knows that an altima has the same engine as the 240 and will still take one in a race. do some research and build that ka. it can handle 8 lbs of boost no problem and will make 215+ hp to the wheels at only 6... research and search some more. sr20det's are nice, but why go smaller? you already have the size and the strength, not to mention the torque that a ka can lay down. why not turbo the ka and make some power while still being a purist... just my .02
