Thumbs down 1996 nissan maxima not holding charge

hello i am new here, i have 1996 nissan maxima v6, i put a new alternator and brand new battery and it still not holding charge. i took my battery to autozone and they charged it for me and i installed it back in the car and it will run for about 30-40 miles and then the battery will go dead. i think there may be electrical leak somewhere, i dont know what should i do from this point. plzz help

Are you sure the alternator is ok? I know that seems like a simle answer, but did Autozone put a meter on the system after you installed it? They do that stuff for free.

Oh, and this thread might get moved. I don't believe they want questions asked in this area. Welcome to the forums...from one new poster to another.

it is possible that your alternator is not properly installed so its not charging you battery or that the wire could be grounded out. that would be a good thing to check.... Hope this helps you
