Spec V Enthusiast

What's up! My name is Tim, and I recently purchased a 2003 Sentra SER Spec V. I love this car. It's much more than I expected. It already had a Enjen CAI on it when I purchased it, but now I'm looking for headers and exhaust( non-turbo, for now). For the header I don't know what to purchase. I've heard many different options. On the exhaust, I know to get mandrel bent and have noticed that most people go for the stainless-steel 2.5". But what brand? I hate the sound of Gretty, and have heard the performance really isn't there. What about Magnaflow, AEBS, Stillen, or others? Any suggestions or dyno's would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know fellow Nissan lovers. Thanks.

Welcome I just sold my 2k2 Spec for a 2k2 Pathy. Some things to consider about the Spec...
-Get a header ASAP, the pre-cat has a bad habit of breaking up and being sucked into the engine, scouring cylinder walls and causing oil consumption
-I had a Magnaflow Cat-Back, great mellow sound and well-priced. Check out www.hpautoworks.com and ask for Andy Hu, the owner
-Check out www.thevboard.com for all your Spec V needs...I'm over there too with the same screen name.
Happy posting man, welcome to the world of Nissan!

Thanks for the response and info. I appreciate it. It's funny you mentioned the Magnaflow exhaust, because I was just checking it out before I checked for any responses. Do you suggest any certain brands of headers?

Well, the header (Spec's only have one header ) I'd go with would prob be the AEBS or Megan Racing. There's others out there (Hotshot, etc.) but the people I heard that had them were unimpressed with the noise. These were some of the first ones available for the Spec. There's also another one out there made by Stone Racing that I don't know a whole lot about. Check out theVboard, there's always Group Buys going on for just about everything, as well as links and reviews for all parts for the Spec. And don't forget hpautoworks.com
EDIT-maybe you should move your Spec questions to the Sentra forum as this is only suppossed to be for introductions

Thanks, I'm going to go with the AEBS header, but I'm still not sure on the exhaust. By the way, I can't seem to connect with you on thevboard.com. I see your posts, but can't seem to reply. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. What do you think about the balance shaft removal kits? I heard they create some vibrations. Have you tried, or heard much about them? Sorry to post on the new member forum, but I'm apparently retarded and can't figure out how to reply on thevboard.com. Thanks, Tim.

you're not going to be able to get an AEBS header. There was only a limited number made and they are no longer being sold.

Go with either DC or the Sturrip (SP?) www.hpautworks.com sells them at a good price.
