1999 EJ8 Civic DD... I hate you, I shouldve got another nissan.
in my experience, you generally get all four tires. i can understand why you would think 2 is fine but you will have some trouble if you go into a skid and the back tires give out, even though its front wheel drive. also, think about it this way-by the spring you will have put lots more wear on the back tires that wasn't put on the front, and soon you will need new ones anyways
in danielson (or maybe plainfield) there's a dog track, im not sure if it is abandoned or what but its certainly not open during the winter, go there at like 3am sometime...you will never find a larger strip of empty parking lot in CT...you can get up to like 50-60, tap the brakes jerk the steering a little and just go into the craziest f**king slides.... as long as you aren't a dumbass (don't flip the car and don't try this in like a tracker or an explorer) you will have a lottttt of fun
also you could probably do some fun racing stuff there when there isn't snow or ice of course.
