I just bought a 200sx Se-R, and it ran a 17.2 at 79.18..... what the hell is up with that....what are these things supost to do stock I'm new with the sr20de. It was about 80 degrees out and it was New England Dragway in Epping NH.... about sea level.
139000... just did a tune up with synthetics and ngk plugs with new wires.... manual... I think I'm gonna go get a leak done and compression test..... hmm anybody have a sr20det for sale in the new england area? ;-p
im not sure of what a stock 60 ft time is, but thats doesnt sound too bad for a stock car, i do know that a stock 200sx se-r should run somewhere around a 15.8 with a decent/good driver, too many different things come into play to give you an exact time.........you might want to do some more tune-up/maintenance work tho
dude, I think your SR20 has problems. at 139k, it'll need more than a tune up. your fuel injectors probably need to be professionally cleaned (not the can stuff you buy at the auto stores). throttle bottle cleaning (physically take it out and brush the darn thing inside out to get the gunk out). you may be losing compression as well with that mileage. yes, get a DET if you can, unfortunately here in New England, you have to get it shipped... eBay would be the way to go to find one fast. See you at NE Dragway this weekend haha
stock for me was 15.9 on 17" tires. best time so far 15.3 with pr cai and 91 cams. gotta head back there and see what my time is w/ my jwt ecu, ps header, courtesy cat and act pp/01 disc combo and lightened fw and drag radials. u need to practice more on the car and ull get better times and are ya sure that has an sr20 in it?? and i still havent seen ur 200sx se-t around or has anyone heard of ya.
The time only tells you how GOOD you can get from the start of the track to the end of the track. If you spin the tires, bog the engine, miss shift, etc. then your time will be off but the M.P.H. at the end will be within a few miles an hour. The M.P.H. is what tells you how fast the car is. Ive seen cars going 14.2 @ 118. Spinning all through 1st and 2nd. If there car hooked right it would be in the high to mid 11's. Your time sounds to be about par for the M.P.H. you ran. If the car passes emissions, compression test and is getting pretty good mileage then it might be a factory fraud. Ive seen plenty of factory freaks (i had a 90 formula 350 that went 14.2 @ 96) and factory frauds (my bro had a 89 mustang G.T. that went 16.2 @ 90 with mods) Good Luck
