I need to swap motors between 2 se-r's. Got a
bad clutch/battery in one, and a bad rod in the other.
I don't really have the cash to blow on
someone who knows more than I do, and I could
definitely use some help to be able to get it done
in one day outside. Weathers getting great, I we can rig something up to get the car high enough,
and do it through the bottom, the easy way. Drop
who engine/tranny/axle assembly, unbolt trans
on the ground, and swap. Only one car has to be
re assembled, the registered/insured one
*slightly* more tempting, is to just do a clutch
job, and call it good, slide out the input shaft,
swap, align, and torque, move the battery, and call it good, but I'd rather have my car with ground controls/swaybars, struts/caster/camber plates and all that fun stuff running, than drive
around the bright red cop magnet.
Love to get someone who's been there once or twice to help, I'll be more than happy to provide beer/whathaveyou..
I have a 40-250 torque wrench and hand/impact sockets, etc.
I also have a map gas torch (hotter than propane),
that works good to free mildly rust-locked fasteners, as long as their not on a gas tank :P
