alternator cable keeps burning on race day

Hello everyone

I’m currently racing my ga16 but it is the third time that the alternator cable burns causing the alternator to stop operating plus draining the battery and that’s the en off the day for me I think it has something to do with the unorthodox pulley I will like to hear some comments on this.

sounds to me like the wire is undergauged meaning its too small try finding a bigger wire

i agree with don run a bigger wire, is the wire literally burning? or is it shorting?, i'd run a bigger wire with an inline fuse
