ok first off i replaced the engine in this car for my father in law he broke the belt in the orig motor and bent the valves. it had 300,000 miles on it. i put the motor in and it turns over fine but is not firing through the coil i have did the Chilton test on the coil and the power transistor ( they call it the power mod) at the parts store. it shows both are good . now i turn the key to on and i am getting 12.89 at the coil and i pull the coil wire and it is the same i removed the cap and i am getting 12.89 at the button in the cap but it still is not firing at the plug wires. the only thing i have not checked is the crank sensor in the cap yet. the motor came out of California complete and the distributor has not been removed from it is there some thing i am missing and do you have any ideas. the motor it the vg30e series.
