starting problems

my friend has an 01 tacoma
i know it aint a nissan but were desperate
and every time he tries to start it it wont unless he puts it in neutral thats the only way it will start
and its not the alty or the starter
does anyone outthere have any idea wat it could be
an his battery is fine cuz everything come on and his subs still hit but it just wont start

What if you start it in neutral then put it in park?

it runs fine as long as we start it in neutralbut thats the only way it will start for some reason

It could maybe be a electronic/wiring, maybe the car thinks that Park is actually drive for something?

ya ive been noticing his electrics
cuz his subs have been acting up like everytime he hits a bumpthe sub goes cazy or it he down shifts or sumthing it will macth the hum of the engine
you have any idea how much that might cost

Yeah have the fuses and relays checked, something wiggy could be going on.

well i know his fuses are good cuz i checked all them yesterday tryin to figure out his subs but i haevent checked the relays
you know any one who wants an 83 sentra
im getting ready to drop a sr20 in it
