05 Altima 2.5S shut down
I have an '05 Altima 2.5S (purchased in August). A few days ago, I stopped at a red light and the vehicle shut down. After numerous attempts to start it, I had to be pushed to a nearby gas station and towed to the dealership. As it was being loaded onto the flatbed, I noticed some fuel leaking from an area under the rear passenger door, which I explained to the techs at the dealership. After a few days, the only explanation they can provide is that my keys need to be reprogrammed. They explained the fuel leak by noting that the attempts to start the vehicle (after it died) caused fuel to build up in the engine (fuel injection system) and leak out. They are unable to provide an explanation as to why the keys would suddenly lose their program in the midst of operation of the vehicle.
They are expecting me to pick up the vehicle after the keys are reprogrammed.
I am very concerned since this vehicle is used to transport an infant to day care.
Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any suggestions?
I would really appreciate it.
thanks
