Exclamation need help with Catalytic Converter

i have a after market exhaust and it has absolutely no sound to it. I see that there is a second what looks like a muffler towards the center of the car. I was wondering if there is a Catalytic Converter in there or if its just a silencer. if anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of exhaust do you have? Is it a rear section or a cat-back? Also, how big is the "muffler" you're referencing? I may be off a little since it's been 3 years since I was under an Altima, but IIRC, there is a flex pipe, then a cat, then resonator (big), then the y pipe going to the rear mufflers. 3.5SE BTW...

that "little muffler" is the catalitic converter..if you choose to cut it off...it'll improve the sound of ur exhast.

Don't forget about the EPA where you live, they frown upon not having a cat.
