Damn farmer tan!!!! I guess all you FWD guys aren't in to drifting. LOL...J/K. That was some HNE meet!?!?! Oh well, I had fun anyway (my first time seeing drifting.) OMG, those Falken guys were sick!!!!!!!! Now I want to try.
The Falken cars got messed up? what happened to them? pics?
we left about 2:30 or so- right after they finished the exhibition, we walked around for a bit and all left and hung out at Sonic... we had more fun there than at the show.
one of the cars tranny's got messed up ( the blue rps13- or sil-80) and it got replaced, the red one wouldnt start, but the techs fixed it for a nother run. i got there about 2:30 when every one was leaving. watched the amature's and then the pro's went out for another demo run before the end. did any one see the green BMW, that guy was sick. it was awesome till the rain came at the end. pics anyone?
ya'll missed out...after the awards cermonies....they went all out....all doing crazy stuff....lol..... btw, the guy in the el camino won the drift competition.....the Autologic porsche won best of show..... btw, i saw u 2 there... =)

I was there when they finished their little showoff(the falken team) and then the guy with the S13 was reving up his engine so high so it wont turn off. then he tried to bust a reverse to park it in place, and it sounded like like 2 thin metals rubbing togehter and he couldnt put it in reverse. then they pushed it in and i heard a guy said "the 2 trannies are messed up". so yeah. i got pictures but my internet is sooo slow itll take hours for me to upload them. ill try tho.
traction is a huge carshow/rave/party/expo in dallas. Lots of people are planning on going to that over the drift showoff but I heard people saying that Traxxion is coming to Houston later in the year so they are going to head to the drift showoff instead.
Also I hear that the Driftshow off was changed to the 10th on purpose to compete with Traxion but to me that is kinda dumb. I would rather have it a different day so you have as many people going to both not making them choose.
I think it is the other way around. Traxion is the "new kid on the block" trying to prove itself by going head-to-head with a promoter and an event that is well-established. How did traxion do over the weekend anyway? I'd be very surprised if they got more than 200 showcars and 2,000 attendees. Driftshowoff was a success despite the bad weather forecast. Tons of people still showed up to see drifting and the car show.
the few people I know of that went to Traxion said it rocked.
dunno... I wasn't too impressed with the show here.. organization could have been MUCH better, but it was at least a nice location (some shade would have been nice though.)

1st exhibition run: Discount Tire S13 blew a fuse that was replaced right away and was ready for the 2nd exhibition run at 2:00PM.
2nd exhibition run: Falken S13 burned the clutch and lost Reserve gear. But was still able to run the 4:30PM and 6:00PM exhibition runs. Falken S14 lost 4th, and 5th gears and was just using the remaining gears for the 4:30PM and 6:00PM exhibition runs. Both trannies on the Falken S13 and S14 are now replaced and ready for the next event.
I'll post pics soon - sometime this week.
Thanks Houston car enthusiasts for supporting Drifting.
