Meet Idea (& GM AutoShow today)

Went to the GM AutoShow in Motion event today over at Sam Houston Race Park with my son and friend Keith. David and Chris were also there to have some fun! Nothing like being invited to drive(abuse) new cars for free and encourgaged to see what they will do on an autocross/controlled short track. For those that did not go-the six speed Z06 Corvette was a blast!! Never realized those big Goodyears would scream that loud.

Brings up an idea. Some type of autocross event for HNE. Anyone have any connections or ideas? Chris, what do you think?

when did you guys go?? i was there and took a silver zo6 for a spin and thankfully with a cool instructor, he let me do fast turns and just go fast, and the h2 was just thrilling, it's like almost going to roll and flop. almost scared the crap out of me. but it was a cool event, i do miss that for scca events. that sealed asphalt is very ideal for auto-x, and r compound tires.

David and Chris got there at 10:00 and left at 1:30. Myself, Keith, and my kid got there at 1:15 and left at 5:30. Yeah, I took one of the silver Z06's too. Fast Phil was my instructor. He even thanked me for a fun ride, saying I had obviously done this before, and no one else had burned the tires entering into the straight away and going through both turns in the last z after the straight away. Wonder if the two big block Mustangs and the two Trans Am's I owned helped any.

And why did anyone not let the rest of us know this was going on and open to the public? Trying to keep all of the fun to yourselves?

well, i myself found out at the last minute, i was at work then bailed early to get there.
