Thumbs up Nismo Cold Air Intake

Just the latest information on the Nismo Cold Air intake for the 2004 Z Roadster...
Nismo made a Cold Air Intake for the 2003-2004 350Z Coupe but not for the Z Roadster. The 350Z Intake fits perfectly however trying to install it in the Z Roadster is a little challanging but can still be done!
We put one on a Z Roadster but had to modify some brackets as well as shorten the bottom tube by 1 1/4 inches because of the huge dampner that Nissan put in the Z for vibration.
I tell You what...We fit it in there like a glove and it ended up sounding great so it can be done!!!
Nismo is actually developing a Cold Air Intake just for the Z Roadster which should be out very soon!!
Catch You next time,
Ken Sanders

Release dates

Ken, can you give us the estimated release dates that Nissan has at this point for the NISMO parts for the Maxima, Altima, etc. Nissan has these dates in the brochure that Nissan gave the dealers(specifically the parts depts.), but I can't remember them. Thanks.

Mike

Ken. Do the 2004 coupes have these dampers as well? Why does the roadster get the preferential treatment over the coupe? I also heard through the grapevine that there might be a solution to the tranny problems with the Z. I heard that it had to do with drivers who don't push the clutch in all the way while shifting thus causing Synchros to go out. Do you know anything about that? OK. Enough questions for now.

David

I'm pretty sure the 2004 coupes do not have the dampners because I had no problem whatsoever installing the cold air intake in the 350Z. It fit perfectly without hassle. The reason the Roadster has this dampner is because like every convertible there is modifications that are made for roadnoise and cabin noise along with certain vibrations.
I'm not sure about the improvements Nissan has made if any about the transmissions going out. I'm pretty sure these transmissions are built to the highest quality as Nissan did take six years to build it and design it for the 350Z. I'll have to get back to You on that one. Thank You, Ken
