Post Rita check-in.. everyone okay?

Ira? how'd you guys fare up in Baytown?

AFAIK, you're the only one that was relaly in harm's way for this.

according to my neighbor, we had some fiberglass panels blow off our back porch canopy, but otherwise the house is intact. no other visible damage from the neighb's phone call.

we will probably he staying here for a few more days and will head home wed I think.. I see ZERO point in hauling ass home, only to sit in traffic on I-45 for three more days.

I stayed at my brother's in Tomball. I lost my back fence in La Porte. Otherwise, no problem.

Everything's cool here. Just got back late thursday, had to trailer the 200 from Huntsville. Sitting in traffic for friggin' 26 hours last week fried the alternator. Just got the computer up this evening, so I'm behind on stuff. We got some tree limbs down, but nothin' major. Several trees down in the neighborhood, so I know what I'll be doin' the next couple of days (besides the alternator). We didn't even get enough rain to get the back yard muddy. Strange, considering it doesn't take much to turn it into a lake.

We stayed in Fairfield and Bonham the last few days with friends and family, saw the traffic headed back in, and decided to wait 'til thursday to head back.

I lost two trees in the backyard. They came less than 6 inches from coming through the roof. We did some ring counting when we cut them up. One was a 125 year old Hickory, and the other was a 153 year old Red Oak. Gotta hate that. At least I got some sunlight in the back yard now.
