pulled ecu fuse

while my 4cyl '96 HB was running i pulled the ecu/ecm fuse under the dash.
it started running and idling a little rough.

i then pulled the fuse while the engine was off to reset it and put it back it and it started running normal again...phew!!

is there any chance that, when i pulled it while running, that i could of done any permanent damage that "check engine light" doesn't see?

my check engine light never came/comes on.

thanks guys!

I have a 92 and there is a diagnostic mode that will tell you if the ecu is good to go, you probably have the newer OBD-II system, but i bet there is a mode or code that will tell you if its still good. Should be in the Haynes/Chilton manual if you have one, or maybe theres another post on the modes/codes for that model

Anything is possible, but voltage spikes are never a good thing to put sensitive electronics through...like pulling the fuse while it's running.
