Engine temperature

Hi folks!
I wonder if we can discuss what is the temperature that the engine (under the hood, near the batterie) can reach! I interested in installing a fresh air device for the inlet but probably is no good to use PVC (because of the heat).

Any opinions??

My aircon(electronic) registers below the hood temperature like 42 to 48 degrees sometimes

i have a digital thermometer that has a probe with about 15' lead on it. i'll try n drive around today n get some readings.

Tks folks! I´m also getting some readings with my digital thermometer! I´ve something like 40 Celcius dg (104 Fr) running and no more that 65 CD (120 FR) with the car stoped and the second fan running!!! But don´t forget also that i´m in portugal and the weather is something very hot!!!
