Hey Folks,
Sorry for placing this in the General forum, but i figure, there are a lot of people wondering what happend to me, i have done the same on SR20Forum.com
It seems my wait here in the Phillipines for readjustment of Status ("Vacation") which i thought was going to take 6 months to a year, is going to take about 825 days for my petition, 6 months for a waiver and 6 months for interview and granting of Permanent Resident Status. Here is my story:
My name is Thevenin "Tevs" Yen aka (SUNNY) SOCAL-SERCA Lifetime Member, here is my story, i have been in the U.S since i was 17 years old (now 32), went to high school and college in Orange County - Southern California Area, I also have no criminal background or any type of felonies, I was employed by McMullen Argus (PRIMEDIA.com), married with 2 daughters Cyan and Larissa ages 3 and 6, My wife ( Liz) was born in Manhattan Beach, and my oldest daughter Larissa, born in Paramount, Cyan my youngest born in Anaheim. I have just been recently deported By Dept. of Homeland security from the U.S, here to the Phillipines. I have always stayed legally in the U.S (functioned like any other U.S citizen, went to school, worked legally with working authorization and have been paying taxes since 1993, never been unemployed, until now) when my wife and i got married last 2002, My wife filed for a petition for me to change my status to (Permanent Resident) Green Card Holder. Dec. 1st of 2003 dept. of homeland Security came and knocked at our House in Cypress, CA. and took me in (cuffed and thrown in a van), overlooking that i had a petition pending from my wife and that i had an interview with immigration around February of 2004, held me in a Pasadena holding facility 4 levels underground with Convicted criminals that have served time in Federal or State Penitentiaries and are now waiting to be deported (10 days). I was placed on a Con-Air Flight with our wrists shackled to our waist for the entire length of the flight back to the Phillipines (17 hours flight time, 2 days including stop overs) stopped over and stayed in Guam Penitentiary. Now i am living next to a sewer up in the mountain city of Baguio 6 hours north of Manila. I have lost my job and so did my wife, just to come over and visit me here last March, My Family is Financially hurting and the Government refuses to help or offer any support, My wife is forced to give up her car and she has sold my NX2000, and they can no longer afford our home so they are forced to give it up and move out, we are behind on bills and our credit pretty much destroyed. I am not asking for any handouts or for anyone to be sorry for me, my wish is for people to learn from this and vote wisely in the elections, and be involved in government i.e understand the bills that are being passed or denied in congress.
I miss all you guys and to all the very good friends i have made due to our passion for these cars, i miss a good ol' American Burger, Killer Pizza and excellent Mexican Food and specially my Wife and kids and my Classic
Life is full of ups and Downs, when i came to the U.S, i basically started from scratch, never took any help from the government, i have tasted Rock bottom and built my life from the ground up, now that i am at these trying times of life, i see this as an oppurtunity to start the business of exporting surplus JDM Nissan parts to the U.S and still continue even when i come back Stateside (around 4 years wait here in the Phillipines)
SE-R/Nissan Content: spreading the Nissan Bible (just like what we do there at home - Geekouts, races, Meets) here and am fortunate enough to have hooked up with a great bunch of Nissan enthusiasts
www.NissanBayan.com they even lent me a car to race at SUBIC International Raceway - Its funny, these guys remind me of you guys back home (it's that same type of personality that these cars of ours attract)
A big thank you to SERCA-SOCAL - you know who you guys are and specially to Carlos Gutierrez for being there and giving support in these hard and trying times. I LOVE U GUYS
I'll be back soon, hopefully INS moves my paperwork faster
i'm keeping myself busy in starting the Nissan Surplus Export company
