HELP! My car is really annoying

Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with my 1996 Sentra SE, manual with 100,666 mi-- It started right up this morning, but as I was backing up it died...my neighbor tried to jump it, but that didn't work. It sounds as if it is really really close to starting, but just can't stay going. If anyone can help me at all, I would greatly appreciate it!!!! Thank you!!!

not enough info to give you a for-sure answer, but something similar happened to a Ford Taurus I had last year. For me it was the fuel pump.

auto or manual, cause this may be a battery/alternator thing or fuel delivery, need more info.

Sounds like something with the fuel system. I would check the battery and alternator first just to make sure, then I would start trouble shooting w/ the fuel system. Like they said above, may be the fuel pump.
