Question Ditch OLD for NEW?

hey i have a 1994 sentra with 72,000mi

my mom said:
if i can sell it and use some of my graduation money i could get a 2003-2004 nissan sentra SE-R.

i would pay for insurance and the payments when i get my job soon...

is that a good choice? or should i stick to turboing my car that i have now?

i mean the sentra i would almost keep stock (meaning just getting rims/air intake/exhaust system/header, and a few other basic needs )

so you think this would be a good choice? or no?

thanx for the opinions

kyle

Hmm, insurance would probably stay cheaper with your current car than any of the new ones. Hmm...

Consider this. The Classic is paid for. You can drop in an SR20DET and upgrade just about everything for less than half the cost of your 3 new car choices. And yes, insurance will be quite a bit less with the classic. New cars are nice, but who really wants a nice car. You want something bad. But is it performance that you are looking for or are you trying to find something to impress the girls. Whatever your decision, make sure that you will be happy with it because I have heard so many people say that they wish they never let their old SE-R go.

I'd get an SE-R-but not the 2003-04 because I don't like the QR25DE engine since they seem to be trouble prone. The earlier ones have the SR20DE which is a far more durable engine.I think the turbo option is a great idea too, but why not swap to a SR20DET from a Bluebird or Pulsar? It would probably be more powerful for the same or less money than a turbo GA16DE.Plus, the insurance would be cheaper for the older car too.(And in my opinion, the B13 is the best looking Sentra ever built so I am partial to them)Oh and one more thing: the B13 wiring will allow you to run the ECU from the donor vehicle(unlike the 95 and later cars that are OBDII)

I agree with all of them. Besides if you were looking at new cars, why would you look at the protege? Even the MS protege is slower than the Spec V, I mean, 170hp turbocharged stock? sorry....my boosted GXE will see better numbers than that.

just throw a DET in your B13, save your money, and mod the hell out of it.
