Salty Roads question

I am curious, for all you who use salt on the roads for snow and ice, how do you keep your vehicle from rusting up and all that jazz??? I am from Alaska and will be moving south to Mass this summer. All they use up here is gravel/sand so replacing your windshield up here is a given almost every spring. I am just trying to get an idea.

Thanks

Salt is the death of your car regardless. you can oil it annually to extend the life of it but salt is salt. it is what it is... death.

I don't know if it works or just BS, but there is something out on the market that prevents rust. It's connected to your battery and they'll charge about $200CAD installed.

You can do a search or try canadiantire.ca. I've seen them advertise this product throughout the winter season. I think they warranty it for 5 years. Guess during the warm seasons, you can disconnect it so it won't drain your battery and get it to last longer.

We don't get much salt added to our roads that often. Even if the city does, it'll wash away in a couple days. I would normally pressure wash the undercarriage at a nearby car wash, that way the driveway don't get icy.
