I have a 2004 Maxima with a 6-speed standard transmission.

It shifts a little hard especially when it's cold.

I have heard that changing the transmission gear oil and replacing with 1/3 automatic transmission fluid and 2/3 factory spec gear oil can help this problem.

Does anyone have any info / opinions / experience?

Don't mix oil types, you aren't doing yourself any real favors.

Start with your manual's recommendation (weight) and work from there. 75W-85? 75W-90?

I like Specialty Formulations the best for cold-weather shifting.
