Serpantine belt tensioner question

Hello, I have a 1992 sentra, 2000 frontier and a 99 accord V-6. I need to replace the alternator on my Accord V-6. It has a serpantine belt and I have no idea on its removal. What do you have to do to release the belt? I need to obviously get this off to remove my alternator for replacement. Any helpful hints on how to release the tension????

Thanks Chris D.

Have you tried to see if it has a belt tensioner pulley? All you would have to do in that situation is take a wrench and loosen that pulley, not the nut, and the belts should get loose.

Hey sunnysentra I don't think any of your 3 vehicles have a true serpentine belt where 1 belt runs everything and the tension is held in place with an automatic spring loaded idler. If it does and I'm wrong, then you just find the spring loaded idler pulley, put a wrench on the center nut and leverage it (you're not unbolting anything) with one hand and slide the belt off with the other hand at the same time.
