Question How do aftermarket companies get OEM Nissan specs?

I would think that Nissan would want to maintain a captive market on replacement parts for as long as possible. And it seems to me that it would be nearly impossible for aftermarket companies to make all the parts without access to OEM design details and specifications, especially when the aftermarket companies claim that the parts “comply” with OEM specifications.

Does anyone know if, and how, the aftermarket companies get access to all these proprietary designs?

Does the Nissan (or any OEM for that matter) sell them?

Its as easy as buying the part you want to make, analyzing it and recreating it to the standards you want. Analyzing and recreation is the hard part, but nissan will give you their "design" if you give them a few dollars. heh

Thats how other companies are coppin hotshot's designs. Buy one of everything and make em in bulk

OK... but buying the finished product and buying the design specs/blueprints are totally different. So the aftermarket parts companies must be buying the designs from Nissan for a pretty hefty price. And as for HotShot... the copying companies are most likely not purchasing the design specs from HotShot, so i would assume they are just copying a finished product's designs somehow...

Pirate Gnomes with one leg... they're kind of like the underpants gnomes, but these ones only steal vital data from car manufacturers.
