so i have been having this problem with my car which i thought it was my coolant temp sensor i just replaced that yesterday and still when the car gets up to temp. going to a stop it dies and it cuts out still. i have been trying to figure this out for awhile now and just cant find the problem but it only does when the engine gets warm so it would really help me out if someone could figure out something cause im stumped thank you all.

Thumbs up

Check that your fuel cap is venting properly. If the car stalls remove the cap and see if it restarts straight away. If the cap isn't venting and letting air to the tank a vacuum forms after the car runs a while and the pump can't pick up fuel from the tank.

If the tank isn't venting properly it takes a while with the engine running before the problem shows itself that is what makes it seem like it is related to the engine temp when it is only that it takes time for the vacuum to develop. My Dad had this problem on his car and it will definately cause the car to stall. How long does it take before the car can be restarted after it stalls? If it is a while, next time it stalls remove the fuel cap and test if it restarts straight away, if it does the cap is at fault.

You can't tell the condition of the coil by appearance. You can check with a multimeter to see if the resistance is correct if you know the correct figures for your coil, or get an auto elecrician to check it for you. If a coil is failing it usually starts out by the engine cutting in and out under acceleration and bogs down from a start and then fires ok. eventually the car won't start at all or will start and cut out under load as the coil gets worse. It is very hard to pin down the problem until you check the coil properly.
