87 stanza high RPM trouble

Just bought the car, runs fine except when I floor it. Stops accelerating, feels like i hit a rev limiter at 3200 rpm (which it doesn't have). I can feather the gas and get to 4000 rpm's but again it stops accelerating. Changed plus, wires, pcv, air & fuel filter.

I have the exact same problem with my '92 stanza. If you find out what the problem is please post the answer as I am stumped!!

One of the (2) coils was cracked or burnt thru. After replacement, the car runs like a clock.
