Question window

my front drivers side window goes down,on my 2000 altima but refuses to go back up. after standing for about 4 hours it went up but lowering it again it will not go back up and its 20 deg to day . any ideas?

did you check to see that the switch is working properly?
try swapping it out with another switch and see whats happening. sounds like the ghost window problem some altima owners have.

window switch

thanks for your answer to my question. what was the ghost window problem? my problem is thats its the main switch on the drivers side,i tried to remove the switch cover but it won't come off and there is no way to get at the switch but to remove the wholw door panel. thanks again and boy is it cold riding with the window half open. it's 8 deg in nj.

Someone asked pretty much the same question in the L30 Altima section not very long ago. The problem is the contacts get burned and this layer of carbon causes a high amount of resistance. If you can pull the switch then carefully take it apart and clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. Reassemble the switch and reconnect the connector to test it. This should cure the problem.
