supprised

I'm shopping for new tires for my stock 02 3.5 and one site said 235-50-17 might not fit but 245-50-17 would. That was strange. I was going for some Dunlop sp 5000 but i found a place that had Mich Pilot Sport A/S @245-50-17 for $848 total w/lifetime rotate and balance. Pretty good?

That's kinda odd-My Alti has stock wheels and tires, well not tires but they were replaced with the same size that came on it 215/55/17. One thing I have noticed about that size is that the cheapest tire I can find is around $160 to $170 per tire so $848 sounds good. Thats right around what I priced some Michelins for.

Just to shed some light.

Your car was supposed to come with 215/55-17.

225/55-17 and 245/50-17 are considered acceptable alternatives.

235/50-17 is not considered acceptable for some strange reason that is unknown to me. It could be because that tire has a smaller overall diameter than your stock tire, but the difference is so small.....I can't believe it would matter.

Difference is when my speedo is reading 60mph,i'm really doing 59.9. Doesnt get much closer then that. Going to 235-50's were already adding .78 wider tread and i was afraid of the 245's and didnt really need that much more tire anyway,i just added a better RSB.
