Ok guys, I need to know if an SR20det will fit in my car. I have a CA2OE in there, but without much room. If i get the SR20 in, will I have enough room for turbo?

a version of your car came with the FJ20DET and thats a big bitch. If you can source one of them thats ideal but they are expensive to mod.
SR should fit physically but you may need to modify the crossmember or make some mount adapters.

A CA18DET will bolt in there with no mods, and you can use you standard gearbox

a FJ20 Turbo is only 17kg Heaver than a SR20DET.........SR20 really is a overweight motor for what it is!!!!

I agree that the CA18DET would be an inexpensive swap and easy to drop in the S12, just for the same fact that the SR20DET is so popular and thus an expensive swap. The FJ20 is a great motor too even though it has the heavier cast iron block but it is a square bore engine so it will rev well but has good bottom end torque. Just my .02

are parts interchangeable between the ca20 and the ca18,there is a shop not to far away that has a few turbo manifolds for the ca18 and i was just wonderinf if they would match up to the ca20 head?

I have a sr20det in my 85 s-12. their is room.

Theres almost nothing interchangable between the two blocks. The head design on the CA18 is different from the CA20, among other things. I'm trying to do the swap on my friends 86 hb. Biggest thing i'm worried 'bout is the wiring.
