maybe the starter is just bad considering it was already off. Or ur car just aint gettin enough juice from ur battery if u havent put a new on in or charged it. But.......if u have done all that an it still doesnt want too then u might have to look into it deeper, from things like wires, soleniods, fuses ect..... ect. well wish ya luck.

have u tried goin to a local auto store an get the starter check? if not i suggest u do a port an polish on the engine only if urs comes with a ca18det cause the ca20 aint really dependable on the connecting rod side very very thin. plus look on the bright side, at least ull have a clean motor with alilttle more hp then stock. well fill me in on ur ride an how its goin cause im tryin to get my 84 ca20e project goin.

HELLO IM SORRY BUT I DONT KNOW MUCH INGLES.
PROBLEM:The CAR MAKES CONTACT WITH ENEMY BUT DOES NOT MOVE OR MOVE LITTLE ?
SOLUCION1:The BATTERY FOR The FJ20E IS OF 70 Or 75 AMPERES. LESS AMPERES DO NOT GO. IT VERIFIES!

*snicker* make contact with enemy?...

anyways don't forget to check the resistance on the positive and negative cable, get rid of any corrosion.... engine harness continuity, good grounds, fuses, relays, ...take multimeter and check all engine sensors especially the *i don't know the s12 at all so i'm guessing at this part* the throttle position sensor and the crank position sensor on the distributor *again i don't know the s12 so i dont even know if ya got one* and check the ECU *the pins* for good ground and good positive circuits. but if this car sat for a long time... the oil needs to be checked for anything other than OIL. as old as the car is... though i had a 87 dodge truck back in 01... if there's stuff in the oil small enough to get past the oil strainer, you're gonna have stuff getting into the crank and piston bearings and camshaft journals, maybe even clogging them. another thing is that when a engine sits for a LOOOONG time the oil drains from the bearings and you need to completely disassemble the engine to be able to preoil the bearings...at least that's what i've heard. hell, might even be "stuck" where the bearings are from years of no oil. either way, i wouldn't chance it if it's sat dead for a long time. i've started up old cars before and they can start right up after fixing something small like a starter or something else, but engine seals and other stuff might keep oil from getting to where it needs to be so you're chancing it by driving something that old before making it "new" again.
