So I was looking for a car to replace the beater I have now, and I purchased an 1987 s12 200sx SE. I didn't think it was going to be that great, but it turns out the previous owner took REALLY good care of the car, and it's so nice I'm feeling the itch to upgrade it and see how well it goes sideways. However, it's an automatic. So I'm thinking about converting it to standard.
What sort of transmissions fit the v6 that it comes with, and would they continue to be good if I added a turbo?

hey i have a s12 silvia also and i have done some research on it come to find out you can turbo it with no problem i think you got the same motor it is a vg30e the z31 300z also has the same motor and they have a turbo version and all hte parts bolt right up trouble is finding the parts for the turbo if i find anything i will hit you up if you want to email me back at spaz7926@yahoo.com and i will ask around about the transmisson ok it shouuld be easy swap u just have to cut the firewall and some other parts

Hey, well, i used to own a turbo S12 with the CA18ET. LOVED the car. and yes, it goes very well sideways!!! well, my budy had a V6 one, and just swapped the motor with a Z31T with no problems. I'm not sure they are exactly the same motor, might be some minor differences, but i'm not sure. But, i know the trans will swap from it. Good luck with your "new" car!
