hi guys im close to buy a silv 200? or whatever is it named

its a 200sx back with silvia front, ive searched in the forum but with no luck.

what should i be aware of? its a 1991 200sx (or maybe a 180sx),im gonna be sure on weekend, but what should be aware of when buying a car like this?

yeah its got a CA18 in it, so it should be an 89 or 90. how much is he asking for? and does he have any mods to it?

180sx looks like its in good condition, check for leaks like power steering hoses they tend to leak alot on the stock models, check for leaks if any push down on the hood to see how the suspension is and the push down on the rear to see how it is. if it bounces alot then your going to have to buy new shocks so u could talk to whoever is selling the car for a little bit cheaper. drive it to see how it feels see if there isnt any hard shifting or see if the brakes work? let us know how it went

its a 91, no mods on it, gonna check the car tomorrow ^^

car price 4490 US Dollars, gonna try lower it, looks like the guy is noob and really needs money. btw dont be shocked by the price, here in chile 4490 dollars is low price for a car, it has the real price impact of 2500 dollars
the car has 62k miles on it

by the way this car may have its turbo stripped, im being offered a skyline turbo, will that one fit on the car?
will i be able to use nissan silvia spare parts for this car? this is important since is hard to find 200sx or 180sx spare parts here.

alright, let me break it down for you, you've got a 180sx/200sx/240sx fastback, with an s13/silvia front end, you can use parts off of either, except when it comes to interior and exterior parts, unless it's the front end. the suspension is the same, as well as the ca18det, and if it is missing the turbo, i'd have a lot of questions for the guy. and i'm not too sure about the skyline turbo fitting, but i'd be skeptical to take it.

edit: the engine and wheels suggest it was an 89/90 SE model, probably with HICAS.

the guy told me the carwas brought from the US (weird) it doesnt have hicas and efectively the car has no turbo, i tried to ask him why and that stuff but the guy is a noob and has no idea, so im unsure how easy would be to put a turbo on it again, i mean it might be a CAI18DE, and dont have the blowoff valve, and would need better pistons or stuff? how can i be sure if it is a cai18DET with stripped turbo and not a cai18DE

if you're that unsure, don't buy it, unless you can look at it in person, and verify some things.
