HI guys,

I have recently purchased a 200 sx s13 and am over the moon with it,
the problem is that the car is very heavy on fuel and runs rough at low revs and backfires a lot.
A friend told me about this site and he told me you guys were geniuses when it comes to the technical stuff so i hope you can help me !!!

I have noticed that there is no vac pipe connected to the fuel regulator,should there be one and if so where does it connect?

also what grade fuel should you run? i have been on normal unleaded,should it be super? and if so what would faults would i expect running normal???

It should connect to a nipple on the intake manifold. It needs a vacuum signal from the engine side of the throttle body. It sounds as though you have a vacuum leak due to some missing vacuum lines. You might want to check for other suspicious 'open' nipples and orphaned vacuum lines.

Assuming this is the CA18DET, premium unleaded otherwise you will ping. Dont use super, it has lead in it
