question about the ga16de motor

Hi guys I wanna say thanks in advance for ur help. I have a simple question for you what is the stock max redline for the ga16de? I know its prolly common knowledge but I am a dsm guy lol. I am just curious cause usally these small motors can rev pretty high I am just wondering if this one is the same. Again thanks for the help I have already learned a ton about the car/motor from this site!!!

6800 or 6900 RPM, IIRC. Pretty good at making power all the way to the end. Unlike the Stanza I drive now...

more specifically, the powerband runs from about 2250-2500 rpm until 6900 rpm (redline), which also happens to be where the computer limits the RPM's. basically, this motor has a nice big, smooth powerband...unfortunatly not much power lol

also, the engine is equiped with variable valve timing to help increase bottom end torque, this is why the power starts at 2.25k-2.5k instead of 3k like most 4 cylinders.

Actually on the stock cams the power curve starts to take a dive at around 6250-6500rpms. Before I had JWT S1 cams in my car I found shifting at 6500rpms to be best cuz at redline on stock cams the car isn't making as much power.

when approach the redline in my car the stick starts to vibrate loudly and it appears to make more noise then power. i find that my car pulls the most from 3700 to about 5800.

that looks nice and clean but it doesnt look like you can see your gas guage at all? Is that a problem where you have it mounted? I would like to stick mine there cause it looks alot better than up on top of the dash!

you can see the gas gauge fine. it is directly to the left of the tach, so you can see the whole gauge and the needle for the gas gauge. it does however cover up the H/C temp gauge, but that is ok because i have a water temp gauge with actual numbers for the temp mounted in the dash. i was going to mount the tach on top of the dash but i didn't want the "riceboy" look nor the cop eye magnet, plus it looks clean. i will try to take a better photo with my camera, as those photos were ghetto cameraphone pix.

in my b14 I had one on the A pillar. It was digital and 2 1/16th inch. Measured in 100 increments.

Also, with the JWT ECU the rev limiter can be raised to 7300.
