Need help for speedo!

Well, I searched and haven't really found anything I am looking for. The alternator went out in my 94 XE a little while ago so we replaced it. I expected the speedo to work after it was replaced but nothing happend. The battery light and stuff went off so I dunno. I got the car registered from this long winter that just passed today. I need to get the car over to CT for my brother to use as a daily driver and need to figure out whats wrong with it by this weekend. I checked the speedo sensor (green round gear) or whatever it is called that is in the tranny and it is fine. The cable looks fine so I dunno what it could be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

the cable will look fine but inside the cable might be bad. replace it and it should work !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, that might be the problem. I need to check it out. Any idea what they run for or anybody have one for sale?

So does anyone have a speedo cable from a part out car or something? Or know how much they cost new? I need to get one asap!

Do you not have any junk yards you can get one from?

Nope, none around me have any. I don't have the time to travel 2 hours to a junkyard in the city. Still in need of one.
